Children’s care - endocrinology

Our pediatric endocrinologists diagnose, manage and treat problems related to the body’s major glands, including the hypothalamus, pituitary, thyroid, parathyroid, adrenals, pineal body and the reproductive glands.

During a child’s life, the hormones secreted by those glands can trigger changes throughout the body, sometimes resulting in diabetes, growth problems and more. Regardless of the problem, our experienced team of doctors will develop a targeted treatment plan to address your child’s specific needs.

Children’s care - GI & surgery

Our surgical specialists understand the unique health needs of children. We work together with your child’s primary care provider to diagnose the problem and design a surgical plan to deliver the best outcome possible.

Our pediatric gastroenterologists treat problems related to your child’s liver, digestive system and nutrition. This may include inflammatory bowel disease, chronic constipation, severe diarrhea, food allergies and stomach aches that won’t go away.

Our pediatric urologist has received specialized training to care for children with urological and kidney problems. He treats children for a number of conditions, including bedwetting and daytime wetting, bladder issues, circumcision and repairs, hernias, hypospadias, kidney stones, urinary tract infections and voiding disorders.

We use advanced surgical techniques designed to speed your child’s recovery and minimize discomfort. Some of the surgeries we perform include diagnostic procedures, ear, nose and throat, neurological, and orthopedic.

Children’s care - Infectious disease

Our pediatric infectious disease specialist is an expert in diagnosing, managing and treating infections in children, whether they are caused by bacteria, parasites, fungus or something unknown. These can cause respiratory infections, hepatitis and other serious conditions that threaten your child’s health.

Children’s care - Cancer

Cancer is scary – especially when it’s your child. The good news is that more children with cancer are being cured today than ever before. At Memorial Health University Physicians, our pediatric oncologists and hematologists will be with you and your family every step of the way.

Our cancer specialists diagnose, manage and treat a range of cancers including leukemia, lymphoma, brain cancer and bone cancer. We have one goal when treating children with cancer: to cure them. We use surgical, medical and therapeutic treatments to fight the disease while keeping your child’s comfort in mind.

Cancer Treatment

Treatments vary depending on a child’s age and the type and severity of cancer. The most common forms of treatment include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation and bone marrow transplant. In addition to oncologists, your child’s cancer care team may include psychologists, social workers and others dedicated to meeting your child’s emotional needs as well.
